Collaborative Creative Projects for Schools and Community Organizations
Cape Breton Art Therapy offers customized school-based art therapy programs for elementary, middle, and high schools. Each project is tailored to the unique needs of the school community and typically spans 10 days over 10 weeks. Guided by a trained art therapist, students collaborate to design and create a large-scale mural—fostering creativity, teamwork, emotional expression, and enhanced well-being, while building a stronger sense of connection and pride within their school.
Beginning in the New Year (2026), I will be available for new school-based art therapy contracts.

The Journey
While these projects often culminate in bold, colorful murals, the true impact unfolds throughout the process—where collaboration nurtures acceptance, understanding, and lasting connections through a shared creative purpose.
Our school-based art therapy projects typically run over 10 full days, often spread across 10 weeks to fit seamlessly into the school schedule.
Collaboration: We work closely with school staff and students to design a project that reflects the community’s unique needs and strengths.
Student-Led Planning: Students actively participate in envisioning and planning the mural, fostering ownership and creativity.
Collaborative Mural Creation: Working together with students, we co-create a large-scale mural that draws on the diverse talents within the group. Throughout the process, we engage in creative problem-solving to bring our shared vision to life.
In collaboration, we discover how to trust the process and let creativity lead.
